Laser Capture Microdissection (LCM) is a powerful technology that enables the isolation of specific cell populations from tissue sections, making it a valuable tool for gene expression analysis and biomarker discovery.

Epistem has developed highly sensitive proprietary techniques for analysing formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) and fresh frozen samples using LCM. Our team of experts offer gene expression analysis services for both sample types, guiding customers in planning LCM studies to ensure optimal gene expression profiling.

Epistem has extensive experience in fibrosis research across various tissues such as lung, liver, and kidney, leveraging our LCM capabilities to identify key pathways and regulators by comparing fibrotic foci with normal comparator regions. We have assessed multiple clinical cohorts to understand inter-foci and inter-patient variation, as well as the underlying biology of fibrosis.
